Hello Folks!

This is our second newsletter.  Hope you are all enjoying your summer!  Again, I appreciate your business and hope this newsletter helps you get through some of those pesky tasks.  I will try to provide tips for all of us, since we all have unique operating systems and preferences.  As always, I appreciate your feedback, so if you would like to see some tips on specific subjects let me know by sending me an e-mail @   tips@wazdisdo.com    - Scott

AOL:   "WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE?"

You can print maps and receive directions to your destination through
AOL Travel. The Maps & Directions site asks you to enter the street
address or intersection, plus the city and state for the location from
which you'll be leaving and for your destination. The directions are
quote detailed; for example, "Turn right on Thistlewood Dr and go
Northeast for about 100 feet." Scroll down to the bottom of the page
for more options, including having directions e-mailed to you and
getting the return route. There's also an option to "Create Printable
Version," but we found that the map wasn't any bigger in this
version--it just omitted some headers, which allowed the map and
directions to fit on one page. The turn-by-turn maps option is
helpful, but the maps still don't show all street names.

AOL:   "PRO FAMILY"

Throwing the word "family" around now is fashionable for politicians
of all parties, but AOL actually does something to help families stay
in touch. For example, you can reserve a private chat room to get
together with your mom and dad, brothers and sisters, grandma,
cousins, nieces, uncles--well, you get the idea. You can also use
e-mail and Instant Messages to keep in touch, and build a family
homepage. AOL presents a list of ideas and pointers to more how-to
information at its Keep in Touch with Family site. Of course, the tips
are great for circles of friends, as well.

Internet Explorer:  "Making the most of your right Mouse Button - Part  Two"

In our previous newsletter, we showed you how to save a picture from the web by "Right-Clicking" on a picture.  Today we are going to show you some other "cool" options of the "Right-Click".

By "Right-Clicking" on a blank area of a web page (no image), an alternate menu pops up with a bunch of new options.  The first one we are going to talk about is the Create Shortcut

Do you have a web page that you go to everyday?  Wouldn't it be nice to just do ONE thing to get you there?  Well, you CAN!

When you are on that favorite page, "Right-Click", go down to "Create Shortcut" and click once.  "A shortcut will be placed on your desktop" appears.   Now, all you have to do is double-click on your new shortcut on the desktop, and the computer does the rest!!!

Outlook Express  -      "Get Organized"

Do you have a very large amount of messages in your In-Tray?  And despite how many times your computer tutor told you (that would me me), you don't delete messages you think you might need later?  Well, a little secret, I don't either.  But what I do is something that might help you also.  Use different folders to organize your messages.  Here's how:

With "Local Folders" selected, go up to File, click once and go down to "Folder", and click on "New"  Name your folder, and Click OK.

Now all you have to do to put a message there, is "Click and Drag" it to your new folder!!
